Benvolio paused thought for a while. What would he be doing if she hadn't shown up. "Probably the same thing I do every day," he said pensively. "Running around, chasing my tail, bugging my cousin, eating something, hunting something, pouncing on something else, tracking something that's largely uninteresting, and chasing my tail...did I say that one already? I think I did. Sorry. Anyway, you get the idea, don't you?" he asked with an uninterested sigh. His everyday life wasn't too exciting, he decided. It was fun for a while, but you could only chase your tail so many times. And after a while, all the rabbits start to smell alike - probably because they're all the same rabbit.
"I attempted to make friends with a dog once. That went excruciatingly well, I can assure you," he added sarcastically.

Viska nodded sympathetically, ears drooped and her eyes momentarily lost their sheen, Many dogs dislike us. Her tone was not aggressive, nor was it sad, just neutral, she didn't know what to think really, and never really would she guessed. She smiled slightly and tilted her head sideways, Where is your cousin? she asked simply, her voice was laced with curiosity that she couldn't hold back, she sighed softly, tail wagging slightly behind her and attention being held poorly, a movement from above caught her eye and she glanced at a bird, a falling leaf demanded her attentions next. Everything felt so alive in this section of the forest, and she was pleased to call it home. Finally her ears settled alertly, and she waited patiently for an answer of sorts, the sheen returned to her vibrant eyes and she sat back in a relxed and easy frame.

Benvolio hopped up on a decaying log, and walked the length of it. Where was Balthazar? He really hadn't a clue. "I don't really know," he admitted. "He could be anywhere about now. Anywhere except back in the cave, sleeping. He gets up at the same time every morning and refuses to take naps. Don't ask me why, the guy's insane. And a workaholic. He does his work and mine. Obviously, I don't care much. I mean...why should I? It's like a get out of jail free card." He stopped and looked unseeingly out into the forest. "I feel bad though, you know? He works so hard and I goof around all day. I can't help it, I'm a puppy! More or less...anyway, I'm not meant to be the pack leader. It should be him."
He looked back at Viska apologetically. "Sorry about that. Rant over."

Viska smiled lightly, No worries. her soft vocals broke the silence and she padded over to him, she couldn't even begin to imagine what it must be like to be leading a pack, all that responsibility. She shook her coat heavily, as if wanting to remove and trace of responsibility, she was far too relaxed and comfortable to even begin to think about taking charge of something, needless to say, she didn't envy Benvolio's position. She wanted to be able to do or say something that would make him feel better, but feared anything she tried would simply be inadequate at assisting. She smiled warmly and stood beside him, hoping her presence was at least a little comforting. She slid her gaze over the forest and wagged her tail lightly.
