If You Are One of Us
Welcome one and all to Landlocked! Landlocked is an intermediate to advanced mostly wild dog RPG. There is a war unlike any the world has ever seen before: that of canine versus man, each trying to exterminate the other. However, there are still some dogs who remain loyal to the humans in the city (and vice-versa), or are still trying to claw their way out of it. You may play as domestic or wild dogs, wolves, or humans (there are boards for each of these). You may look bellow to see which characters are open for applications.
As this is intermediate-advanced, the word limit is 150 words. Feel free to go over the limit (we would love it if you did!) but don't feel pressured. Remember: quality over quantity...so long as it's 150 words or more =D

Many years ago, man and dog lived together in peace - or so they thought. For ages, dogs were content to work alongside their human partners, for that was what they believed they were. It only took one day for centuries of work and inter-species bonding to fall apart.
One dog rose above all others for not only could he anticipate the humans' moves, he could understand their language. It was he - one named Abraham Likely - who first discovered the degradation that his species was subject to. The humans were not their partners, but their masters. They were not friends, they were servants. All these years they had been holding dogs captive with false feelings of love and friendship, when behind their backs they were "stupid, useless creatures" and to many far worse.
Abraham Likely convinced his fellow dogs to revolt, and through the legendary Dawn Bark, every canine in town soon knew that they would live with their "partners" no longer. When the clock tower struck twelve - no sooner, no later - every dog for miles around rose and attacked his human slave driver.
The men who kept their lives drove the dogs out of their town and into the lands surrounding it, and walled themselves in, attempting to keep the savage beasts out.
Now, walled in by mountains on every side, the dogs have nothing to do but wait and plot their revenge. Many of them would rather forget the humans and move on, and some have tried...and all have died. They are landlocked.
By member, of course, we mean character. We're just odd that way.
MotM will be chosen on the 15th of every month and will go to those characters who stand out that month. The winner's beautiful face will be posted here.

Descendants of Likely (4 sub-boards) The Descendants of Likely are not necessarily blood relatives of Abraham Likely; instead, they base their lives around Likely's teachings. They believe it is a dog's job to cleanse the world of all men and to treat them as man treated dogs.
Friends of Man (4 sub-boards) The Friends of Man are the complete opposite of the Descendants of Likely. They believe that humans are friends, even though a majority of men have turned against them. They are righteous and always stand up for what they believe in.
Brighton Elite (4 sub-boards) The Brighton Elite are neutral, not taking sides between the Descendants of Likely and the Friends of Man. They like to keep to themselves and are largely a peaceful pack. Be warned: they will not let themselves be pushed around.
InterCity Madness (4 sub-boards) The InterCity Madness are a mixed group, taking in anyone who doesn't fit in the other packs. They are a force to be reckoned with: a majority of them are loyal and brave, however there are a few who are otherwise.
Bridal Vale The Bridal Vale is a small-ish waterfall, but still very pretty. He who claims this land will inherit all it's riches...but what does a dog want with riches? Instead, he'll acquire the waterfall and the large grassy area around it, as well as a small portion of the woods to the left of the falls. The property starts four hundred metres behind the Bridal Vale and continues five miles in all other directions. The white barked tree marks the start of ICM territory. I'd make sure my pack didn't wander past it, if I were you.
Grayson's Nook Grayson's nook is a medium sized, well hidden outcropping of rock. It is perfect for a smallish pack (five to six dogs and a couple pups) and is extremely comfortable - never too hot in summer, never too cold in winter. It's the perfect place to raise your pups.
The nook is located between two peaks, and though it is closer to the Man City than most places, it is also better hidden. It is invisible from up top as there is a stony roof that hides it, and the bottom is hidden by a dense thicket that no man could fight his way through.
Scott Air This is a small, abandoned airport a few miles west of town. It has quite a bit of land, but all of it flat and open to the elements. Streaks of pavement cut through the territory where the plains used to touch ground.
To the front of the airport their is an old two-story diner creatively titled 'Sam's.' Bits of decoration still hang on the walls and all the furniture is in tact (though old a battered), including the first class lounge in the back (which consists of two couches and a coffee table, as well as carpeted floors). The tables and chairs in the main rooms have been pushed against the walls and piled on top of each other.

Headhunters (4 sub-boards) So far, the Headhunters are the only established wolf pack in the area. They think of themselves as superior to dogs as they have never been domesticated.
Man's Tracks Man's Tracks is the canine name for the old, rusting train tracks that were abandoned years ago when the metro station was introduced. For years it stood undisturbed, but now it is a thriving social ground for canines from all different alliances.
Ex-Zoo When the dogs first rebelled, the first place they hit was this zoo. It was small and held quite a few people. In the manic panic, the animals were set free in hopes that they would distract the dogs from their real intention.
It worked. The humans escaped while the dogs snapped at giraffes and screaming monkeys. Though that day wasn't a complete success, the zoo now belongs to them and they have free run of all the cages and stores. Some just like to sit at the enclosures and watch the fish swim back and forth...

The Playground The playground was hit at the same time as the zoo. Now, with the walls to the human city way back there, the dogs are free to use the playground as they wish. The slides, swings, see-saws and monkey bars are there for the taking...if they can figure out how to use them.
Grey Lake Grey Lake is the biggest body of water in the area, so massive it would take a day of continuous walking to get around the whole thing and back where you started. It is home to various water birds (ducks and swans included) and is surrounded by grassy field on one side, mountains on another, and a forest all along the northern side.
Anderson Island Anderson Island is a relatively small landmass in the centre of Grey Lake. The only thing that's on it is a small forest and a strip of sandy shores. It would probably take about half an hour to circle the whole island, which is connected to the mainland by a narrow strip of land.
Wanton Geysers The Wanton Geysers and unreliable and unpredictable, shooting steaming hot water at random intervals in random places. For that reason, not many canines come out here. Those who do, however, either die or have great fun playing "dodge the steaming hot blast of water or you're dead" game. Oh yes. Real game.

The City (7 sub-boards) The city is where the humans live. There are hardly any dogs left here. The ones who are are small and scrawny so they can fit well into even the most minuscule hiding place. Pampered house pets are a thing of the past, though there may be some left.
